Learning about Reptiles

Students of grade I went on a field trip to the Madras Crocodile Bank. Upon arrival, the students had an interactive session with the snake expert where they learnt many interesting facts about snakes and also got a chance to feel and observe the scales of a snake. This was followed by a show and tell session with some of the juvenile reptiles. The children interacted with enthusiasm and had many questions for the tour guide. They also got to observe the texture and colours of the reptile’s skin first hand. They were then taken on a guided tour around the park and got to meet Thor, the biggest crocodile at the park, a few iguanas and other reptiles. During the guided tour they also had the opportunity to see the eggs laid by different reptiles and a closeup view of a crocodile’s tooth.
