Inter House – Uriyadi

The highly anticipated Inter-House Matka Breaking event saw students from the four houses of grades 9-12 vying to break the pot first. With just a few days of practice, they were able to build pyramids and break the matkas deftly, all in a matter of seconds. Individual events were also conducted and students participated with equal enthusiasm. All the corridors were lively as the whole school gathered to cheer for their houses during this adrenaline-pumping event.

Hari Shree’s Golu

This year, the primary school children celebrated Navaratri by having a 3 step Golu in the reception area. The students contributed these dolls from their favourite collections. Every morning, different grade levels took turns to recite shlokas and sing bhajans. The efforts of the students and teachers brought in a serene atmosphere in the school.
Navarathri Celebration
It was a time to celebrate and come together as a class before we went for our term break. The whole school ushered in Dussehra, dressed in colourful, traditional attire, dancing to the rhythm of dandia music. Students of classes VI – VIII and IX to XII had dandiya sessions in separate venues. The day was even more special as our teachers also danced with us.

Akka Anna Day & Pot Luck

The potluck happened in the comfortable environment of our own classrooms, having invited those we are thankful to – our annas and akkas – to come and eat with us. It was definitely a humbling experience as we served them food we had brought from our homes, ate with them and laughed with them. It has become one of the many meaningful traditions at Hari Shree.

Teacher’s Day – A Day to Unwind!

The evening of 4th September turned out to be one of the most pleasant and memorable days of this year. The teachers of CHSV were felicitated with the Service Award for completion of fifteen, ten and five years of service with Hari Shree. The teachers were also treated to an amazing variety of programmes by the faculty themselves, followed by High Tea in the Dining Hall hosted by our director, Smt. Geetha Muthiah. Who says teachers cannot have fun? We almost fell off our chairs laughing during the play, mesmerized by the music program presented by the Junior Campus teachers, and participated enthusiastically in a Music Quiz event. The dancing damsels of CHSV provided a visual treat for the finale. On the whole, the teachers went home that day with fond memories. - Charukesi Acharya
Our School celebrated Teachers’ day with great gusto and gaiety on 5th September. Students presented a scintillating cultural show to express their love, respect, acknowledgement and recognition of the hard work put in by the teachers. The cultural show incorporated poems, songs, dance, drama and games. The teachers enjoyed and appreciated the program. Students acknowledged that, teachers play a vital role in making their pupils accountable citizens of tomorrow and also wonderful human beings. The Principal extended her heartiest thanks to all students and the Student Council Members for organizing such a brilliant show.
ASISC Regionals

Chettinad Hari Shree Vidyalayam hosted the Association of Schools for Indian School Certificate (ASISC) Tamil Nadu Regional Level Literary events for the Sub Junior, Junior (ICSE) and Senior (ISC) levels this year. The regional level culminating at the national level is an annual tradition for this event. This year, 25 schools, including Hari Shree participated in various literary events with a footfall of close to 300 students. The English department supported by Social Sciences and Art departments worked tirelessly to make this day happen. Smrithi Krishnan bagged the first place in Sub Junior Declamation, Mahi V Bajaj & Vinaayak Dasika as a team came first in the Sub Junior Quiz, Javvaji Swati Gowri Shrikha & V.Saranesh Kanna emerged winners in the senior level Quiz. Shashank S from the Sub Junior category came first in Painting. These students will be representing the Tamil Nadu region in the nationals in October. The other students who made us proud are as follows: Mahima Ravi and Gayathri Venkatesan were the runners -up in the declamation event in the junior and senior category respectively. Krithiyaa was placed third in the painting event. Junior debate team consisting of Shreya Udaykumar & Tejas Nageswar came in second place and senior debate team of Dheekshanya & Shreyas proved their mettle in facing a tough competition. Aditya B. Prakash represented our school in the painting event in the junior level. Kudos to all our students!
UTSAV

Culture is an inherent part of learning at Hari Shree.
UTSAV is a salutation and celebration of our culture.
The session by the Dhananjayans, on the culture and traditions of our country, marked the beginning of the Utsav celebrations this year. The students of grades VI to VIII were the lucky audience for this session. Ms. Seethalakshmi’s session on the mouth-watering flavours of our forgotten, traditional food – Parambariya Unavu, was indeed a treat to the ears and mouths of the young grade 6 students. Indian ethnicity is woven into the very fabric of our living. Mr. Amarnath oriented the students of grade 7 on the Indian Weaves and Prints. The World Craft Council also conducted a workshop for students on weaving and craft using palm leaves. Erika acharya and Bhuvaneshwari acharya facilitated sessions on block printing using vegetables & paint and tie and dye, respectively. Ancient temples are not just places of worship but also well planned sites of conservation. Ms. Chitra Madhavan brought out the designs of water harvesting in temples. Ms. Pavithra Srinivasan’s interactive session on the transforming aspect of Art and Culture made the students of grade VIII aware of the evolving nature of the two concepts. The students of Grades VI, VII and VIII also enjoyed a perfect combination of dance, by Ms. Kavya Muralidharan, music by Ms. Sudha Raja & Mr. Murali, and Katha by Ms. Janaki Sabesh.
