Stagecraft’s debut, Theatre Night 2015, will showcase a collage of plays celebrating theatre.

Ten students from BITS Hyderabad campus pursuing various streams of engineering, addressed the students of class 10 and 11 on the courses offered by BITS. They spoke about the BITS SAT examination besides briefing the students on time management, the prospect each stream of engineering has to offer and life at the BITS campus.
Installation Ceremony on 30th August 2013
The first activity taken up by the newly installed Interact members was to visit the Adyar Cancer Institute on 21st September with an objective of creating a Tulsi garden in the hospital campus. They got in to the field – cleared the area, planted the tulsi saplings and watered the plants. The students also got an opportunity to meet and interact with Padmashree Awardee Dr.Shantha, chairperson of Adyar Cancer Institute. Dr.Shantha spent time with our students and was seen asking them what they thought about the change that we look forward at this point in time in the world. Students reponded enthusiastically to her with different ideas. The Interact members were a satisfied lot as they returned back to school with pleasant memories.
Launch of Pick and Pay at CHSV on 23rd October
Siddarth PC, President of Interact Club says, “We, the members of the Interact Club of CHSV, are extremely happy to announce that the Pick and Pay Stationary Shop was successfully launched at our school today. The shop was inaugurated by our principal, Sumathi Acharya, during the lunch hour in the presence of the 11th and 12th grade students. Inquisitive students stayed behind after the launch to learn how the pick and pay system works and promised to share the news of the launch of the shop with their friends.
The shop is strategically situated at the library where many students head to during the snack and lunch hours. We are expecting business to pick up in the next few days and are confident that the Pick and Pay shop will be a success not only in terms of profits but also in inculcating the value of honesty amongst our students.”
On 7th December, a few members of the Interact Club visited the Arunodayam Trust to share the collected clothes. The Interact Club has been actively engaged in a clothes collection drive in the months of October and November.
The Rotary Club of Madras Temple City installed the Interact Club at Hari Shree Vidyalayam on 2nd August 2012. Membership to this club was kept open to class IX students on a voluntary basis. 28 students volunteered and were installed as members in a formal ceremony with Sharan Srinivasan as President; Karthik Sriram as Secretary; Vishal Srinivas as Vice-President; and Deeksha Karthik as Treasurer.
The class IX students have adopted a govt. school in Chinammbedu village on the outskirts of Chennai. The initial connection with this school was made on 11th August, when 3 student leaders and a teacher visited the school and participated in a formal adoption ceremony as members of the Rotary Club of Madras Temple City. The student leaders got an insight into the problems faced by the school. They also interacted with the students, whom they felt were very deprived. They are planning for mentoring sessions, fund raising, awareness campaigns, health camps, donation drives, sports camps, celebrations etc. The children are also planning to interact with influential people and create an awareness among the larger community at our end. They have scheduled regular meetings on every second Friday to plan, and assess the action plan.
INTERACT CLUB – REACHING OUT
Interact Club conducted a seminar for the class VI students of Ganapathy Iyer School, T.Nagar on ‘Around the World’. The club also visited a village school in Chinnambedu with the Rotary Club to understand their needs. The school is in a dilapidated condition and in need of urgent repair. The club engaged in various fund raising events during HSV’s annual sports day and Dhanur Vaibhav.
July 19 – The first under 14 football tournament of the year resulted in the CHSV team securing the 3rd place in the 5- a- side CSF inter- school championship in which the boys from classes VI – VIII played a scintillating three games with a total score of 11 goals.
Rahul from class VIII got the top scorer award for scoring a total of 4 goals in the tournament.
The CHSV team won 8-0 in the 1st game with The Corporation School, Sharma Nagar. In the 2nd game, they lost to Cantonment Board School which won 2-0. The 3rd game with Anitha Methodist School saw CHSV win 3rd place in the tournament with a 3-0 win.

M. Madheswaran of Class VII Vaiduryam was part of the Cricket Federation on India (CFA) A team which took part in the 2nd YSD international Youth Cricket Carnival conducted by the Kuala Lumpur Cricket Association. A total of 16 teams from India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand participated. The CFA A team entered the final but lost against Sri Lanka.
Madheswaran got the Best Bowler Award for his bowling performance in the tournament, taking 12 wickets in 8 matches.

The INDO SRILANKAN OPEN KARATE tournament was held at P.J.N. INDOOR STADIUM, FATORDA, GOA under the auspices of the Department of Sports, Government of India.
The Goshin _Ryu team of Karate professionals coordinated the mega event.
Hari Shree students N.HARSHIKKHA, DHRUV THIRUMALAI, T.SAICHARAN and MAHENDRA participated in the 3 day event. Karate master Shri Nagamani and his team have been training the students, as part of the after-school activities.
The foursome displayed grit and determination as they fought to secure medals in their respective categories.

2) DHRUV THIRUMALAI won a SILVER and a BRONZE
3) T.SAICHARAN won a BRONZE
4) MAHENDRA won a BRONZE

Another initiative by the Prefectorial Body is the hosting of the Inter-House Sports Meet – a first in Chettinad Hari Shree Vidyalayam. The sports meet was between the four sports houses of the school – Prithvi, Vayu, Agni and Akash. The competition was in the following four games:
Students from classes 9 to 12 participated in this meet. The Inter-House Sports Meet was held between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Children from the four houses participated enthusiastically in the games. Vayu House emerged as the Overall Champions and prizes were distributed to the winning teams by the Principal.
