Primary Sports Carnival

Students from the primary had their Sports carnival in our school premises where they participated in various activities and demonstrations to showcase their endurance in fitness. The demonstrations helped children feel brisk and energetic. Participating in sports and other physical activities can help an individual to develop a variety of skills and to gain experience and confidence.

Sports Carnival

After a long break, the Junior Campus Sports Carnival was back with a bang in January. It turned out to be a wonderful and fun filled day with many children in attendance with their families. The children took part in games and activities that were arranged for them and they got to exhibit their skills to their families and acharyas.

Learning about Reptiles

Students of grade I went on a field trip to the Madras Crocodile Bank. Upon arrival, the students had an interactive session with the snake expert where they learnt many interesting facts about snakes and also got a chance to feel and observe the scales of a snake. This was followed by a show and tell session with some of the juvenile reptiles. The children interacted with enthusiasm and had many questions for the tour guide. They also got to observe the texture and colours of the reptile’s skin first hand. They were then taken on a guided tour around the park and got to meet Thor, the biggest crocodile at the park, a few iguanas and other reptiles. During the guided tour they also had the opportunity to see the eggs laid by different reptiles and a closeup view of a crocodile’s tooth.

Check Mate

A Yohan Jain of grade IV won first place in the 13th Chess Tournament, under 10 category of the Sundaram Finance Mylapore Festival, that was conducted by the Solar Chess Club.

 

T Sorabiyar of grade II participated in a chess tournament and secured 5th place under the Sub Junior category.

Ping Pong

A Moksha of grade V won the runner up in the City Schools TT tournament conducted by the sport development authority of Tamilnadu, AKG table tennis development centre.

Karate Championship

Rudra Tarun Patel and Kailash Sundaresan of grade III won the third prize in Kicks and Punches, the International Karate Championship.

Blue Belt in Karate

Manit Ankit Sutaria of grade II earned the Blue belt 6th Kyu, conducted by International Goju Ryu Karate Do Association, New Zealand.

Budding Artist

Ritisha of grade II participated in ‘Smart Talk’ conducted by The Budding Artist Club and secured the second place.

Aiming for the Basket

Akshara Nidhin of grade VII participated in the Under-13 Sub Junior District Level Basketball tournament conducted by Chennai District Basketball Association and her team secured the 4th place.

Search for Inspiration

Ananya Vijay Ganesh of grade XII was invited as a speaker at the TEDxSIST event at Sathyabama University. She got an opportunity to share her insights and experiences of becoming an author at a young age.
