The school follows a holistic, exploration-based and application-oriented approach to learning that goes beyond academics to nurture students as independent learners. A healthy teacher-student ratio is maintained at this level also to ensure a wholesome and focused classroom experience with better student engagement.
The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ICSE) curriculum is followed for grades 9 and 10. This curriculum has been designed by the Council to provide a course of general education with a set of academic subjects and Socially Useful Productive Work to prepare children for the ICSE examination in grade 10.
Transition to ICSE
Students are oriented with the Council requirements and curricular expectations with regard to the different subjects. Students are also familiarised with the assessment patterns in ICSE, including any project or practical work as part of the internal assessments of individual subjects.

Electives:
The school offers Computer Applications, Physical Education, Economic Applications, Art and Commercial Applications as electives. The electives offered may vary from year to year. An aptitude test may be administered to guide students to choose the right elective. Some electives include compulsory camps as part of the curriculum.
At ICSE Level (Grades 9 and 10): Second language options offered are Hindi, Tamil, Sanskrit, and French.

Introduction to ISC
Students are introduced to the subjects offered at grade 11 and the possible combinations. They are offered an insight into the syllabus and the natural progression of the syllabi from the ICSE to ISC. The depth and comprehensive nature of the ISC syllabus is presented from the perspective of preparedness for professional courses.
Global Citizenship: Our Global Citizenship program encourages students to understand global issues, appreciate the importance of using the earth’s resources mindfully and work towards a sustainable future.
Each grade works on one sustainable development goal recommended by the United Nations, through which they are sensitised about global issues by relating it locally.
Students take up projects throughout the year to work on solutions towards sustainable development. Working on such projects develops curiosity, creativity, and imagination in young minds and inculcates skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, etc.
Solver space is an in-school problem-solving platform that allows children to experiment and build prototypes that solve real-life environment and civic problems in their locality which they discover through the entrepreneurship program. Students get opportunities to work on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) projects.
Students are also provided with real-time opportunities or projects for Socially Useful Productive Work which is a mandatory segment of the ICSE curriculum.

Creative Expressions :
Students learn an artform through the year from expert facilitators. At the beginning of the academic year, students choose Art, Music, Dance or Theatre. Their performance or creative work is a part of festivals, annual day and special occasions.
Music: Students are taught western music or Indian music, by expert facilitators. In Indian music classes, students learn different songs from regional folk, devotional and Carnatic styles and their background along with the culture of the people associated. Basic lessons of Carnatic vocal and voice culture are given to improve their singing.
In the Western music classes, students learn vocal and instrumentals and the concepts of western music notations and its theory. They participate in listening and practical activities to enhance performance skills and create music collaboratively.

Art: Students can choose between Art & Craft / Painting / Sculpture as their CE activity.
Students explore fine art, craft, graphic design and artefacts and learn to express culture through art, think critically and take a step towards design thinking as artists.Students learn the colour theory, lighting and the concept of perspective, to compose paintings such as Landscapes, Figurative Art, Still Life Art and Abstract Art, using various mediums.
Students’ work is showcased during special occasions like Varnajala, the grand annual art festival of Hari Shree.

Dance: Students get an opportunity to learn various styles and genres under the two main categories of Indian Dance Forms and Western Dance.
Indian Dance Forms – Students learn classical, semi classical and fusion dance forms. They learn the theoretical and technical aspects of these dance forms.
Western Dance – Students practise various styles of dance like Hip hop, Contemporary, Free style and Zumba.

Theatre: Theatre sessions are conducted by a professional theatre group, as a collaborative form of performing art. The sessions embrace the idea of inclusive storytelling and help students find their voice through the entire process of content to form. A combination of gesture, speech, song, music, and dance is used to enhance the experience of theatre.
Students are taken through a variety of tasks and activities that improve their content creation and performance abilities making them sure of themselves in a myriad of genres and styles on stage.
The program also is mapped to several milestones through the year and plays created and performed by the students form a big part of festivals, annual day events and special occasions.

Physical Education: The physical education curriculum is structured to focus on building physical strength and endurance along with resilience, sportsmanship and team spirit. Students represent the school in various matches including those conducted by the Council.

Yoga: Students practise asanas to improve flexibility and maintain good posture. They also learn breathing techniques to help them stay calm, focussed and mindful. Special sessions are also organised by experts to help students manage their anxiety and stress, especially while preparing for examinations.

Field Trips and Outbound Trips: Students are taken on field trips to various places during their course, to have an in-depth understanding of subjects they study. Field trips focus on specific and planned objectives through observation, experiential learning and reflection.
Outbound trips are planned with specific outcomes to familiarise students with the geography and culture of various places around the country. The plan is structured to explore places in the country from the nearest to the farthest with every progressive year. Team-building activities like trekking and camping are integral parts of the outbound trips.
The field trips and outbound trips allow children to manage themselves and inculcate self-discipline.
Students also take on community service projects to serve the local community, during their outbound trips as part of their Socially Useful Productive Work projects.

Guest Lectures: Professionals from different fields, including alumni, are invited to as guest lecturers to provide students with deeper understanding of concepts beyond the curriculum. These guest lectures and interactions spark interest in children towards various fields and provide different perspectives to the learning.
Visits of guest lecturers are also opportunities for students to gain industry exposure and means of potential resources in the industry.

Career Guidance: Students are provided opportunities through structured career guidance sessions, to explore various career choices available and the subject combinations that they can opt for in grade 11 to help them in these career paths. A well-planned and structured guidance program with aptitude and skill assessments, career guidance webinars and a career planning tool and tracker are provided for students to help them in their choices.
Student Council
The student council empowers students into being responsible for themselves and to contribute to the school and the community as a whole. Students of grades 9 and 10 are nominated and elected for different roles in the school council. These roles come with a set of responsibilities and provide opportunities for students to develop organisational, communication and negotiation skills.
Assemblies: Assemblies are an integral part of our regular working days. These may be theme-based and are organised and conducted by the students themselves, building their organisational skills and team work. Assemblies provide opportunities for the student council to interact with the student body and take collective decisions.
