Communication and Personality Development

Eligibility: Grade IV – VIII (Minimum 8 students)

The Communication & Personality Development program aims at drawing students out of their shell, building confidence and helping them learn to talk with clarity and poise. Games and group/team-based activities are used predominantly, keeping in mind the shorter attention span of our younger students. The children carry their learning into their home and back to school by working on simple homework assignments with practical application.

Model United Nations (MUN) – Club

Model United Nations (MUN) – Club

Eligibility: Grade VII – XI (Minimum 10 students)

The club prepares interested students to be competitive at MUN conferences by working on spe-cific skills like research, policy analysis, active listening, negotiating, reaching consensus, conflict resolution, note taking, and technical writing. The MUN Cafe Club can be seen as a foundation course to grow and evolve gradually into confident delegates who can represent the school at MUN conferences across the world.

Matte Painting

Eligibility: Grade III to X

As one of the earliest forms of self-expression, painting is a visual dance of the imagination. It precedes oral language, making thoughts visible, allowing even the youngest of children to com-municate their ideas, express their feelings, construct knowledge and attempt to make sense of their world. It is an enriching experience that supports young children’s growth, development and self-expression and provides many benefits to their physical, emotional, social, cognitive and language development.

Pottery & Sculpting

Pottery & Sculpting

Eligibility: Grade III to X

Pottery and sculpting open up the world of three-dimensional art to children. It requires them to understand spatial awareness. They need to move the form around; and move themselves around the form to see all the sides and examine the shape, form, and perspective of the piece. The heal-ing and calming nature of clay helps improve their concentration, which helps them in their other pursuits. In this program, the students are exposed to making:

Eligibility: Juniors Grade IV to V (Minimum 25 students) Seniors Grade VI to IX (Minimum 25 students) Day / Time: First and third Saturday

Quizzes are ‘learning made fun’. If learning is fun, we learn better. Quizzes develop listening, thought association and recall, besides encouraging wide reading and discussion.

At Hari Shree, our quiz club makes use of

  • Game format quizzes
  • Thematic teasers and fun questions
  • AV quiz — based on current affairs, trends from newspapers and social media.
  • Certificate and end of year quiz event with medals for winners of the event.

Aeromodelling

Eligibility: Grade VI to X

Aeromodelling is the activity involving design, development and flying of small air vehicles. It is a very exciting and interesting way to learn, apply and understand science and engineering prin-ciples. Model aircrafts are mainly scaled down versions of real world planes. These models can be static or dynamic (that is they can either fly or glide).

The aeromodelling program includes:

  • Models which are designed to study the forces that are acting on the planes.

2D–Design Tools

2D–Design Tools

Eligibility: Grade VI to XII

Design is one of the most popular streams of study and career today. At Hari Shree, we consider it important to expose our students to this extremely creative world. In line with this, ‘2D Design Tools’ is offered as a paid-club activity.

In our program, Students will explore the tools and software that converts the hand drawn images to digital artworks. They get a glimpse of the current world of design. They learn to design digital cards, posters & illustrations.

Gymnastics

Eligibility: Grade I to VIII

Gymnastics includes physical exercises requiring balance, strength, flexibility, agility, coordina-tion, and endurance. At Hari Shree, we engage state level trainers and coaches for our students to get safe, joyful and expert training in gymnastics.

The students learn

  • Balancing, Jumping and Landing
  • Handstand variations — balance work, freestanding handstands, handstand push-ups (static and dynamic) and handstand walking.

Every known martial art lays primary emphasis on finding one’s center and focus. Since martial arts affect every single muscle in the human body, trains the mind to be aware of itself and things around it and teaches the soul to harness the capacity of our body and mind, they help people become more complete and balanced. Karate helps develop a well-balanced mind and body, through training in fighting techniques.

Badminton, an Olympic sport, is amongst the most popular racket sports – mainly because it can be played by basically anyone who can swing a racket! A fantastic full-body workout, its rapid movements, jumps, smashes and crunches help develop your core muscles. Like any other sport, badminton can improve one’s focus and develop discipline/decision making.
