Saraswathi Pooja

On the occasion of Ayudha Pooja, our work place, the school, was revered in a traditional pooja. Our Director, Principal, Vice Principal, Coordinators and staff prayed for a fruitful and successful year.

Inter House – Uriyadi

The highly anticipated Inter-House Matka Breaking event saw students from the four houses of grades 9-12 vying to break the pot first. With just a few days of practice, they were able to build pyramids and break the matkas deftly, all in a matter of seconds. Individual events were also conducted and students participated with equal enthusiasm. All the corridors were lively as the whole school gathered to cheer for their houses during this adrenaline-pumping event.

Sharing Knowledge and Experience

On November 1st, a few 8th grade students from HLC, Perungudi, visited Hari Shree to learn more about art as a core subject in school and how one can pursue art in the future, both in college and as a career option. Hari Shree students spoke about the different papers offered in school, different tips and tricks, as well as the variety of mediums and techniques. They were also shown our students’ art work and exchanged some encouraging notes. It was a great experience to share and exchange about something that both groups were very passionate about.

Middle School Kamba Ramayana Bus Visit

Middle school students had the unique opportunity to get insights into Ramayana in an unusual way. A bus was stationed at Hari Shree campus, brought in by the youth wing of Chaitanya Mission. Students visited the bus and got a better understanding of lesser known facts about Ramayana.

Math in Dance & Math in Music

Math Day celebration in Hari Shree campus was numero uno! The middle school students took part in the Inter House Math Day competitions. This included a very novel presentation of mathematical concepts inherent in music and dance. Students from each house choreographed dance routines and demonstrated musical tala or beats that brought out the relationship between art and arithmetic.

UTSAV – Primary

November saw the halls of Hari Shree Vidyalayam reverberate once again with the palpable excitement of their annual cultural bonanza – UTSAV. Interactive sessions were conducted by eminent personalities who shared their knowledge on various aspects of Indian culture. Thought provoking seminars and workshops were conducted through age appropriate mediums which presented the children with opportunities to get a better understanding of a culture that surrounds them every day. The class-wise themes for this year’s Utsav ranged from Festivals, Traditional Games to Indian folktales and Classical Music & Dance.

Children from Grades II to V were encouraged to transform their classrooms into culturally rich museums with exhibitions, informative write-ups and display of musical instruments. Reflections were an integral part of the experience where the children were encouraged to record their observations and understanding of each of the sessions that they participated in. The conclusion of Utsav left the children and teachers of Hari Shree Vidyalayam with a confidence that next year will come soon enough to take a deeper plunge into India’s rich cultural heritage.

Children’s Day

The Children’s Day celebration this year was absolutely stellar. Seeing our dear Acharyas take time out of their busy schedules, to put together a program for us, was truly touching. From the beginning to the very end, there wasn’t one program that didn’t end with a huge thunder of applause. The program started with a soothing music medley by the Acharyas, followed by a beautifully composed Bharatanatyam dance performance. We laughed a lot when we were shown a very relatable collection of memes, and this was followed by mimicry performances of our favourite movie stars. Our Acharyas even dressed up in costumes and enacted a skit for us. Just when we thought the program couldn’t have been better, our Sirs got onto the stage with an energetic and amazingly choreographed dance, which got all of us on our feet to cheer for them. Overall, it was a wonderful day, and personally for us 12th graders, this was such an amazing memory to cherish in our last year of schooling. Thank you so much Acharyas!

Annual Sports Meet 2019-20

The Sports Meet of 2019 was a fun and exhilarating event. The chief guest, Mr. Neville Bilimoria, a rowing champion, hoisted the school flag and received the salute from the 4 contingents and the student leaders. This was followed by yoga demonstration, vibrant drills and synergetic human pyramids. Next were the athletic events, which included track events, shot put and long jump. Everyone was cheering with enthusiasm for their house and displayed immense spirit, determination and sportsmanship. After the final tally Agni stood first on the scoreboard followed by Akash, Prithvi and Vayu.

Inter House Events

An inter-house pinup board competition on the topic Bio Waste to Biogas was held for grades 6 and 7. All four houses took up the challenge with great team spirit.

The four houses engaged in an exhilarating ‘Battle of Colours’ in the Rangoli competition as part of Pongal celebrations. The high school students used various mediums like flowers, grains, Salt, millets, diyas and vivid colour powders to produce 4 beautiful rangolis highlighting scenes from this harvest festival celebrated all over the country.
