Hari Shree celebrated The Vizha

 

The school hosted The Vizha in August, a grand cultural event that saw over 600 participants from more than 20 schools across the city, competing in over 20 different events. The event was a celebration of talent and camaraderie, providing students a platform to showcase their skills. Renowned singers Sean Roldan and Medha Ramaswamy graced the occasion as chief guests. Alumni added to the spirit of the event by returning as judges, making it a true celebration of community. For the first time, The Vizha attracted a crowd of this size, marking a significant success.

Dahi Handi Event

 

In keeping with the spirit of Janmashtami, the Dahi Handi event was organized, where students formed human pyramids to break the hanging pot, just as Krishna and his friends did during his childhood. The students were divided into their respective houses, each trying to reach the top of the pyramid and successfully break the pot. The event was filled with excitement and cheer, symbolizing unity, teamwork, and the playful side of Krishna’s persona.

The Birth of Krishna – Grade IX CE Presentation

 

The Creative Expressions performances by the students of grade IX for Krishna Janmashtami were a beautiful amalgamation of art, music, dance, and drama. The students showcased their talents and deepened their connection with the teachings and stories of Lord Krishna. The event was a joyful celebration of Krishna’s life, filled with devotion, creativity, and learning. The event not only provided a platform for students to express themselves creatively but also helped them understand the values of kindness, love, and righteousness that Lord Krishna embodied. The students’ participation and the enthusiasm of the audience made the Krishna Janmashtami celebration a memorable and spiritually enriching experience for everyone involved.

India’s Independence – Grade VIII CE Presentation

 

The Creative Expressions presentation by the students of grade VIII was a vibrant and patriotic one marked to commemorate India’s 78th Independence Day. The event aimed to honor the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters, reflect on the values of liberty and unity, and celebrate the diverse cultural heritage of the nation. Through art, music, dance, and drama, the students not only expressed their patriotism but also gained a deeper appreciation for their role in shaping the future of the country. The event was both informative and inspiring, leaving a lasting impact on everyone present.

A Serene Village Visit

 

As part of Utsav, the learners of grade VIII visited Sirudavoor village. The Hari Shree group was welcomed by the villagers with a traditional aarthi and kumkum. The learners had the opportunity to create kolams with rice flour in front of houses in the village. Visiting the paddy fields, exploring the rice mill, and enjoying refreshing coconut water to quench their thirst were some of the simple yet meaningful things they enjoyed. Overall, it was an enriching experiential learning experience.

The Tamizh Day celebration showcased the rich cultural heritage of Tamil language and traditions through various events. The event was organized by the Tamil Department, with the enthusiastic participation of students, teachers, and the school administration. It fostered a sense of pride in their cultural identity and inspired them to delve deeper into the Tamil language, literature, and history. The event successfully reminded everyone of the enduring relevance and beauty of Tamil, a language that continues to flourish despite the passage of time.

Hari Shree’s MUN brought in committees and chairpersons like never seen before. Delegates of countries came together to form alliances, make bonds and word resolutions to find peaceful solutions to important world problems. It brought higher levels of knowledge and a feeling of involvement in the delegates in relation to current affairs and global issues.

The Investiture Ceremony for the newly elected members of the Student Council of this academic year took place in the presence of Lieutenant Colonel Bhavani Ravishankar. She addressed the learners of grade XI and XII, on the importance of leadership and the responsibility that each badge comes with. She congratulated the members of the Student Council and advised them to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties.

Grade V learners recently delved into the evolution of mankind during a field trip to the Chennai Egmore Museum. They had the chance to examine exhibits such as sculptures, ancient coins, and historical weapons, gaining insights into human development and cultural evolution. This real-time experience allowed them to connect classroom learning with real-world artifacts, deepening their understanding of History and its impact on civilization.

Learners of grade IV recently ventured into the past by visiting the Egmore Museum. This exploration allowed them to see and learn about the fascinating array of historical artifacts, from ancient coins to intricate sculptures, weapons, and ornaments. The trip offered a special opportunity for the students to connect with the ancient civilizations they’ve been studying, deepening their appreciation for our rich heritage.
