Anupama Parthasarathy is a passionate yoga teacher who firmly believes in starting young. She is a professional yoga traoner and is currently undergoing advanced training at Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, one of the most reputed yoga schools. She believes in the aspects of form and function in yoga and strives to create a balance between the two while teaching.
Umamaheswari is a Master’s in English from Madras University and a B. Ed from IGNOU. She holds a Diploma in Journalism too. She has been with Harishree since its inception from 2004. Being an enthusiastic and active person, she tries innovative methods like incorporating acronyms, music into teaching, thereby ensuring that the learning process is not stressful, but fun-filled. She strongly believes that inculcating values and good practices in children would help them be a better person.
Shobana Muraali is an enthusiastic teacher with over 17 years of experience in teaching Biology. She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Toxicology and Bachelor’s in Education. She believes in developing a positive and enthusiastic attitude about the subject as this is an important quality of a teacher.She feels that a teacher must maintain a warm and friendly relationship with the students, know their learning style, develop team spirit, respect their views and ideas and create a collaborative work culture.
Aparna is a passionate English language educator, and her mission is to create responsible global citizens by inculcating the spirit of lifelong learning in her students. She promotes inquiry-based learning in her classroom, and encourages wide reading and writing with application. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Stella Maris and has been with Harishree for over 5 years. She loves to watch movies and listen to contemporary music.
As a Montessori teacher, Kavitha believes her role is to guide the children to become responsible and independent individuals. She encourages creativity, imagination and exploration in her classroom. She endeavours to create curiosity in them and provide space for language, art and craft activities, underlining the importance of expression. She looks forward to spending her time with the children every day.
Anuradha Babu has been with Harishree for over 8 years and finds her calling in engaging young minds productively. She is passionate about the English language and endeavors to instill effective communication skills with good application and flawless grammar. She promotes ‘learning with context’ and consciously incorporates thought provoking debates, discussions and activities to make learning experiential and fun. She believes hardwork, passion and consistency are keys in achieving one’s goals.
Yashi is a Master’s in Chemistry. Her love for languages prompted her to acquire a Master’s in Hindi Literature as well. She has been a teacher for more than 14 years and promotes a cheerful, positive learning environment. She encourages her students to speak their minds, with politeness and the right spirit. She believes in the immersion technique to learning a language well, and calls for all activities to be done in Hindi in her sessions.
S. M. Krishnamoorthy is a passionate Physics teacher, having 30 years of teaching experience. He holds a Master’s degree in Physics and teaches the senior level students. He prides himself in having been a constant learner and has strived extensively in revising lesson plans, content and instruction methods towards effective learning. He believes in promoting spontaneous scientific thinking. He likes to present even complex topics in a simple manner with real-life examples to ground understanding and kindle curiosity.
Bhuvaneswari is a passionate art teacher. She is a Master’s in Painting from the Govt College of Fine Arts, Chennai and has been a teacher for over 6 years. She loves to explore different mediums along with other crafts such as crochet, embroidery, sewing, knitting, calligraphy and textile designing. She believes everyone should experience art in their lives and every day is a brand new opportunity to grow. She strives to inculcate interest in art and crafts in children.
Logeswari is a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher with a strong desire to incorporate a multidimensional, multicultural teaching metho. With her educational background in Geo-Informatics, she enjoys teaching Geography as cosmic science, linking it with various ideas, concepts, cultures and societies. She believes knowledge of Geography is key to understand the world and its peoples, and make it a better place to live. Her lively, enthusiastic classes include ‘What if’ questions to help young geographers get curious and expand their thinking.
