Uniform Specifications

“Do schools need uniform?” is a hot topic of continuing discussion in many parts of the world. At Hari Shree, we strike a balance between uniforms and nonuniform, thus gaining the advantages of both. Yes, we do have prescribed uniform for all our students, but, it is not a uniform uniform!

Our school uniforms are ethnic in color, design and style. Every year, we bring out one or two different combinations of ethnic color and design in our uniform materials, but, the tailoring pattern remains unchanged. Students are free to buy the one they like. In addition, they are also free to wear the uniforms procured in the previous years. They are free to choose which color uniform they wear on a particular day.

Other than the regular school uniforms, we have sports uniforms comprising of tracks and t-shirts. The tracks are the same color for all, but the t-shirts are blue, orange, white, or green, based on whether the student belongs to Akash, Agni, Vayu or Prithvi houses, respectively. On days they have Physical Education (PE), students come to school wearing the sports uniform. On days there is Yoga, students can choose to wear sports uniform or not. Girls of Class 5 and below must wear tights under their skirts, if they choose not to wear the sports uniform on days that they have Yoga.

Typically, Class 5 and below have 2 PE hours and 1 Yoga hour per week. Class 6 and above have 1 PE hour and 1 Yoga hour per week.

Procuring Uniforms

  • Uniforms are available only at the school stores and are not available in any stores outside the school.
  • While paying the school fees every term, you can include the total amount for the uniform cost.
  • Once you produce your copy of the paid challan at the school stores, the uniforms are delivered.
  • If you need to buy uniforms in the middle of a term, you will have to follow the same procedure of paying the amount at the bank and producing the paid challan at the school stores.

Stitching the School Uniform

Other Specifications

Encourage the children to wear their hair in comfortable, sensible and school-appropriate manner. There are no rigid restrictions on number of plaits, ribbons, etc. for girls.

With ethnic outfits as uniform, a bindi goes well with it and is much appreciated. It is neither mandatory nor is a part of our school specifications. We simply encourage our children to echo our rich culture, heritage and tradition, at every opportunity.
