Tamizh Day

August 3, 2018

Tamizh Day was celebrated in honour of the birthday of our school’s founder Rajah Sir Muthiah Chettiar. The event started off on an auspicious note with the lighting of the kuthuvilakku and a speech by the chief guest Ms. Anita Kuppuswamy. This was followed by an array of mellifluous songs, inspiring speeches and graceful dances by the students. The highlight was the engaging debate between the senior students on the topic ‘Did the invasion of the British impact the Tamizh culture favourably or adversely?’ The adjudicator added to the celebrations by reciting an inspiring ‘Thirukkural’.
