The SPICMACAY chapter at Harishree Vidyalayam was inaugurated in August 2010. SPICMACAY is a movement formed to help disseminate the best of not only India's but also the world's classical heritage in educational institutions. It seeks to conserve and promote an awareness of this rich and heterogeneous cultural tapestry amongst the youth through focus on the classical arts, and to facilitate an awareness of their deeper and subtler values. The chapter aims to sensitize the younger generation to the rich, heterogeneous, and glorious Indian culture and the world's classical heritage.

With the help of SPICMACAY, we plan to give our students the rich experience of listening to senior artists of Carnatic and Hindustani music, at least a couple of times a year, in our own premises!
