Meaning: May one meditate upping Lord Vigneshvara, who wears the white garment, who is all pervasive, who has a bright complexion (like the full moon), who has four hands (representing all power), who has am ever-smiling face (or an elephant face), for the removal of all obstacles.

Meaning: The guru is brahmA, the guru is viShNu, the guru is maheshvara. The guru is ultimate truth. Unto that guru my prostration.

Meaning: I worship Lord viShNu the embodiment of peace, who is reclining on the serpentAdisesha, whose navel has a lotus (of brahma), who is the Lord of the Gods, who is the supporter of the universe, who is all prevailing (the omnipresent), Lord of lakShmi (wealth); whose eyes are like lotus, who is attainable by yogi through meditation, who is the destroyer of all fear of birth and death and who is the only Lord of allthe three lokas (worlds).

Meaning: O Mother saraswati, my humble prostrations to Thee, who art the fulfiller of all my wishes. I begin my studies with the request that Thou wilt bestow Thy blessings on me.

Meaning: Goddess saraswati is fair like the jasmine-colored moon; her pure white garland is like frosty dew drops; she is adorned in radiant white attire. While two of her hands play the veena, the two other hands are poised to give boons, awards and punishments as needed. She is seated on a white lotus. She is ever worshipped by all the devas including brahma, viShNu and maheshwara. May this Goddess saraswati, the one who completely removes lethargy, sluggishness and ignorance, protect me.
