Prayer 2
This is the Shanti mantra (invocatory verse) of Isha Upanishad (IshaVasya Upanishad) Which is a part of the (Shukla) Yajurveda

Om pūrṇamadaḥ pūrṇamidam pūrṇād pūrṇamudacyate|
pūrṇasya pūrṇamādāya pūrṇamevāvaśiṣyate||
Om shaantih shaantih  shaantih

Om, That is complete, This is complete, From the completeness comes the completeness If completeness is taken away from completeness, Only completeness remains

Monday Prayer
Naagendra-Haaraaya Tri-Locanaaya
Bhasma-Angga-Raagaaya Maheshvaraaya |

Tasmai Nakaaraaya NamaShivaaya ||1||

Meaning:
(Salutations to Him) who has the king of snakes as his garland and who has three eyes, whose body is smeared with sacred ashes and who is the great Lord, who is eternal, who is ever pure and who has the four directions as his clothes, (signifying that he is ever free); Salutations to that Shiva, who is represented by the syllable “Na”, the first syllable of the Panchakshara mantra “Na-Ma-Shi-Va-Ya”.

Meaning:
Avvaiyar prays to Lord Ganapathy and says that she will give him four things- Milk, Pure Honey, Jaggery and Dhal (different types – green gram, black gram etc.). She says she will mix all this and give it to the Lord. In return she asks Ganapathy: Oh my Lord! Give me the three Tamils which enrich the sangam. Give me ‘iyartamil’ (prose); ‘isaitamil’ (poetry) and ‘nadakatamil’ (drama). That is what I want from you.

Wednesday Prayer
āpadām apahartāram dātāraṁ sarva saṁpadām|
lokābhirāmaṁ śrīrāmaṁ bhūyo bhūyo namāmyaham||

Meaning:
I pray to Sri Rama who annihilates all dangers in life and purveys all wealth. I bow many a times to his feet who enchants the world absolutely

vanamālī gadī śārṅgī śaṅkhī cakrī ca nandakī|
śrīmān nārāyaṇo viṣṇuḥ vāsudevo’bhirakṣatu||

Meaning:
Sriman Narayana is adorned with the garland-vanamala, and is armed with the mace-Sar’nga , the bow, the conch, the discus and the sword-nandaka. He is Vishnu (all-pervasive), and Vasudeva (who resides in all and in whom all reside). May that Vasudeva protect us all.

Thursday Prayer

Meaning:
O! Lord Muruga, you are the one with the form, you are also the one without a form. You are the one, who has it all, and you are the one who does not have it all; you are present in the smallest – in the flower, in the ring of the bell, and in the light. You are the embryo, you are the life, you are the destiny, and you are the fate. Please come upon us as our Guru and bestow your blessings.

Friday Prayer
kātyāyini mahāmaye
bhavāni bhuvaneśvari |
saṁsāra sāgare magnān
uddhara śrī kṛpāmayī |

Meaning:
Oh Devi Kathyayini, incarnation of Parvathi , Protector of the Universe! I pray that you lead us to salvation from the materialistic world.

Namastestu Mahaa-Maaye Shrii-Piitthe Sura-Puujite |
Shangkha-Cakra-Gadaa-Haste Mahaalakssmi Namostute ||1||

Meaning:
Salutations to Devi Mahalakshmi! Salutations to Mahamaya! The Great Enchantress, who is worshipped by the Devas in Sri Pitha, her abode; She, who has the conch, disc and mace in her hands; Salutations to that Mahalakshmi!

māṇikya vīṇām upalālayantīṁ madālasāṁ mañjulavāgvilāsām||
māhendra nīla dyuti komalāṅgīṁ mātaṅga kanyāṁ manasā smarāmi||

Meaning:
I meditate on the daughter of Matanga, who plays the veena made of precious gems, who has become languid due to her exuberance, who is blessed with very sweet words, whose body is resplendent like the dark blue gemstone.
