We, the management and faculty at Hari Shree and you, the parents of Hari Shree's students have one thing in common; we both will not stop until we give the very best to our children! We both have the same objective and we understand the importance of us working together as a team.

Hari Shree Vidyalayam welcomes parent involvement in the holistic education of our children. Children take pride in seeing their parents being a part of the school and a collaborative effort involving the school and the parents will certainly enrich the teaching-learning process.

Volunteer opportunities vary from one time assignments to ongoing commitments and there are a wide variety of opportunities to choose from. We have been able to successfully implement programs in the past with your encouragement and support and are looking forward to your continued support.

School Celebrations

Festivals like Onam, Krishna Jayanthi, Navaratri, etc., are all celebrated in school. The joy of celebrating these festivals are completely handed over to the parents once or twice in a year. Parents form volunteer groups, plan the events and celebrate the festival in school with the children. If you would like to be part of such festivities, inform your Class Parent. You will be invited for participation in planning and executing such celebrations.

Sports

Hari Shree would like to invite assistance from parents who are experienced in athletic events or any of the games like basket ball, cricket, badminton or table tennis, and are willing to volunteer their time. Volunteers can contribute in developing game strategies, assist the coaches, help organize matches and contribute as mentors for our children during practice and matches. Parent volunteers play an important role and the benefits to our children are many. Parents may contribute as little as an hour a week or on a more regular basis.

Club Activities - Photography, Eco, Literary and Art

These club activities are organized between 2.30 pm and 3.30 pm on Wednesdays. For details of these club activities please refer to Photography Club, Eco Club, Literary Club and Art Club.

If you have the interest, experience or expertise in any of these fields and would like to share the same with the students, you are most welcome!

Enrichment Program

The Enrichment Program is organized between 2.30 pm and 3.30 pm on Thursdays.

If you have resources or expertise in any of the following fields and would like to contribute in enriching the children, please let us know.

Debate

If you can share sophisticated arguing techniques, the art of gathering information about a current issues of public importance or about general philosophies/ideas, tips on how to structure the speech and the manner to present it, the importance of working as a team in presenting the argument, how to make note of opponent's logic and key points and come up with counter arguments, conduct mock debates, etc., please let us know.

Spell Bee

If you can share your expertise in studying word lists, memorizing spelling rules, learning the etymology of words, understanding the basic Latin and Greek elements of words, etc., and would like to volunteer please do let us know.

Creative Writing

If you have the ability to paint word-pictures out of anything under the sun and would like to share your expertise and provide exercises and valuable suggestions to our children, please do let us know.

GK/Quiz

The art of continually updating and refreshing one's memory with varied information and popping out the information during quizzing is a unique capability. If you have any valuable methods to share with the students to help them improve their quizzing ability, you are most welcome.

Math

If you have any math enrichment games and puzzles designed to stimulate, challenge and entertain students and you would like to share with them or you have any books or know any techniques to enrich their mathematical ability and would like to share or present a guest lecture to the students, please let us know.

Science

If you would like to share games/activities/books/videos on any of the myriad disciplines of science or would like to present a guest lecture, please let us know.

Life Skills

Life Skills can include countless skills and abilities and hence the avenues in which you may be able to volunteer are also countless. From money management, healthy lifestyle choices, personal safely and hygiene, organizational skills, decision making skills, critical thinking skills, interpersonal abilities, managing feelings, and the list is endless. Let us know if you can help with any of the life skills.

Theatre

Theatre involves honing the skills of students, starting from breathing techniques to articulation and resonance, acting and movement, improvisational techniques, to stage designing and makeup techniques. If you can share your expertise in any of the theatrical abilities, please let us know.

Dance

If you have learnt any of the unusual classical/folk dance forms of the world and would like to teach, our dance club members would be delighted to learn! Let us know!

Music

If you have know any unique classical compositions or folk songs of any region in the world, our music club members will be happy to learn them from you!

Program for Parents

If you would like to offer any workshop for parents and be the facilitator for any activity for parents, please let us know.

Learning Junction

If you enjoy reading out to children or participate in library programs, please let us know.

Others

If you have the interest and ability for teaching and do not wish to take up a permanent job, but would not mind acting as a substitute teacher when needed, please let us know.
