Harishree Vidyalayam's library caters to the information requirements of its students, teaching and non-teaching staff members. The library has a collection of more than 13,000 books and 30 periodicals.

The school library has an automated circulation and automated cataloguing system which is developed by Easy Education Automation Software Pvt Ltd.

Services

  • Book, magazine lending(only old magazines issue to the teachers and non-teaching staff).
  • Reference service
  • Assisting users to search resources.
  • Newspaper clipping service(relevant cuttings from the newspaper are organized for the future reference).
  • Current Awareness Service.

Borrowing Guidelines

  • For each class we prepare a Reading List.
  • Students from Class II to Class IX can borrow one book at a time for a period of one week from the Reading List.
  • After reading at least 15 books from the reading list, students are free to choose books from the stacks.
  • An overdue charge of Rs.1 per day shall be charged if the book is kept over time.
  • The date on which the books are to be returned will be stamped on the Due Date slip.
  • Period of loan for books borrowed can be extended if they are not in demand.
  • Continuous failure to return books will result in the suspension of the memberships for a period of one month.
  • Lost or damaged books must be paid for at the rate determined by the library

  • Lost books must be replaced by the student.
  • Students shall return the library books before leaving the school.
  • Transfer Certificate to a student and Relieving Chit to a teacher shall not be issued unless he/she produces a no-due certificate from the librarian.

Library Civics

  • Personal books or books of other libraries or other personal belongings such as bags, umbrella, water bottle, text-books, etc., are not allowed into the library.
  • No reader shall lie on the tables, chairs, benches or the floor of the library.
  • Strict silence shall be observed in the library.

Certificates

We are award certificates to the students who can read at least 15 books in a term.

Book Reviews

Students write book reviews on borrowed books in an A-4 sheet. The best reviews are displayed on the library pin-up board.
