Flipper Fest 2013

Tree Foundation and the Institute of Ocean Management, Anna University supported by The US Consulate General, Chennai conducted the 7th Annual Marine Biodiversity Awareness Mela – FLIPPER FEST 2013 on 7th & 8thNovmber. Flipper Fest 2013 turned out to be a fun filled event of “Learning through Doing”.

Students from classes 6 to 9 participated in various events and challenges – Quiz on Endangered Plants and Animals in the world Oceans;  Painting/ Poster making  on Marie Biodiversity; Essay writing on “Why Marine Biodiversity is important?”, Power point presentations  on Land Ocean Connections; Model Making on threats to the Marine Biodiversty   and Eco Drama  on Saving Our Oceans were some of the events in which our students participated.  The primary objective was to inculcate awareness and importance of marine life.

Hari Shree students bagged

  • FIRST prize in model making on ‘Marine Bio diversity’, the winning team members were Subham Agarwal, Swetha, Samyukth Vasu, Pranav Srinivas and Samhitha Gautham.
  • SECOND place in Powerpoint presentation – Siddarth Sridhar and Harsh Yadav worked as a team to present ‘Land-Ocean connections’
  • THIRD place in Eco Drama – Dilshani A, Srinithi N, Joshni M, Madhusri M.G, Ishaana S and Vaishnavi N presented a skit on ‘Saving our Oceans’

Sashikala Acharya  who coordinated the event felt that this was a great learning opportunity for our students.
