  • Class VI students walked around the Theosophical society with Shashikala acharyas as an extension of their Science lessons

Class V To VIII

  • A group of students from Class V to VIII witnessed the Svanubhava Celebrations at Kalashetra Foundation with Kausalya acharya, their music teacher and Smitha acharya, their dance teacher.

Class V 

  • The Social Studies teacher engaged the students on a day trip to Vivekananda Illam as an extension of their classroom session on 16th October 2012.
  • Class V went to Dakshin Chitra and Vivekananda Illam as part of their Global School Partnership with Padmaja and Jayanthi acharya.

Class IV

  • Day trip to ‘Adyar Poonga’ to study the physical features of the Adyar River on 19th Dec 2012.
  • Class IV students were taken to Adyar Poonga by Bhama, Vasanthi and Vaishnavi acharya as an extension of their Science lessons.

Class III

  • A lesson on ‘Maps’ was extended with a field trip around the locality on 12th Dec, 2012, as the children observed the landmarks and a few public utility buildings.
  • Class III students were  taken to the Anna Centenary Library by their English teachers, Ms. Akhila and Ms.Deepika

Our school prefectorial board is a representative group of students who are democratically elected by their peers. Campaigning happened on June 27, 28 and 29. The Elections were on June 30.

The Investiture Ceremony
July 4, 2016   

Chettinad Hari Shree Vidyalayam proudly conducted its Investiture ceremony on the 4th of July. We were honoured to have as our Chief Guest, Deputy Commandant Devendra Kumar, a patriotic soldier working in the Indian Navy.

The event had an auspicious beginning with a prayer and lighting of the kuthu vellaku. As the roll call commenced, each student marched up to the stage, saluted the chief guest and collected their badges, a symbol of the trust and responsibility reposed in them. Our Principal, Dr. Swaminathan V Krishnan and the Chief Guest, Deputy Commandant Devendra Kumar, addressed the gathering. The erstwhile Head Boy and Head Girl passed on a ‘diya’ to the newly elected Head Boy and Head Girl. Led by the Head Boy and Head Girl, the new student council took an oath to uphold the reputation of the school.

The students of the school participated in the ‘My Clean India’ Interschool Drawing competition, organized by the Justice Mohan Children’s University in association with the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India.

Hindi Classroom Activity 

The students of class 6 worked on a Hindi classroom activity based on the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The students made posters and came up with innovative slogans with the intention of encouraging everyone to keep the school clean.  The posters were displayed on the school bulletin boards.
