We all have loved reading. While some of us persist with this habit there are others who have given it up either temporarily or for good due to a multitude of reasons ranging from a lack of time to a lack of accessibility to good books. To state the obvious, reading is to the mind as exercise is to the body. A cliché, may be, but it is a fact. Hari Shree wishes to revive the reading culture to reap its benefits for the teachers and parents (and through us the children).
Our lives are busy but we are trying to carve out sometime for what we think will be a worthwhile learning experience for us and without doubt our students. We have launched the Hari Shree Book Club to which parents will be invited. In addition to rekindling your love for reading, the club will also offer a platform for you to share your ideas on the issues presented in the books. The goal is to generate lively and thought-provoking discussions about books and informative articles from various sources.
The forum will be the getting together of a group of like-minded people with a common goal — to be better informed individuals who aspire to grow personally and professionally. The members of the book club will meet up at 10.30 am on the 1st Saturdays of every month to have an enlightening and I’m sure a fun discussion about the material we have read.
We have included a book-list below, with a bit of sleuthing and investigation you will find something that interests you. A few of the titles are already available in the library. If you wish to borrow these titles kindly sign up for library membership. You need to submit two passport size photographs along with the library membership application form duly filled up. You may obtain these forms at the reception.
