Ms. Swagata Bhattacharjee

An Economics graduate with a B.Ed degree, she has had more than 10 years experience as a subject teacher. She attributes her love for aesthetics to her mother’s influence and the early childhood environment which abounded in ethnic flavour.

She also looks upon her husband, Tarit Bhattacharjee, art & design teacher in ‘The School’ Chennai and an Aluminus of Kalabhavan shantinekatan (A premier Institute of Art in India) as an inspiration.

She had been teaching art for 8 years in different schools in Chennai before joining Hari Shree Vidyalayam. She has exhibited her works in different places in India and also holds workshops in many places.

Swagatha also enjoys interior decoration and the performing arts such as dance music and drama.

“Teaching Art in Chettinad Harishree is a unique experience and I gain constant support from the Director, Principal and other teachers of the school. I also find the school ambience an inspiration for my aesthetic bent of mind. The art room is huge and has enough space for children to explore their creativity with the teacher’s help.”
