Art Curriculum – Classes VIII to XII

Class VIII 

Students will be introduced to the techniques which will be taught in detail in Class IX and X during Art elective classes. Evaluation of their capabilities will help them make an informed choice of elective in Class IX.     

Class IX and above 

The aim of the Art curriculum is to inculcate in students the ability to appreciate Art and to encourage creative expression. Topics covered will encompass Art history, Indian and Western Art and artists. Classes XI and XII will be exposed to World Art.

Activities will include -

  • Still Life – Observe 3D objects and replicate it in 2D, keeping in mind the ratio, proportion, spacing, composition etc.
  • Imaginary composition based on a topic given
  • Perspective drawing – techniques to bring 3D effects to a drawing
  • Figurative drawing – Human figures
  • Drawing nature and scenery
  • Tie and Dye
  • Canvas painting
  • Sculpture – For Classes XI and XII
  • Embroidery
  • Block Printing
  • Art Installations
  • Cartooning and Photography
