Archives – Pradarshan – An Exhibition of Talent

December 23, 2015

Pradarshan, which literally means exhibition, was a platform for the busy students of classes 10 and 12 to showcase their talent since they would not be able to participate in the annual day owing to board exams. A beautiful phoenix with its wings spread wide in front of the sun occupied centre stage in the school auditorium on this day designated for showcasing and celebrating talent.

The first part of the show, anchored by two class 12 students, consisted of events put together by the 10th graders. They ranged from rendition of popular songs to Carnatic music and a play depicting episodes from the recent floods in Chennai. The essence of play was the resurgence of faith in humanity in times of devastation and disaster, akin to the rebirth of the legendary phoenix bird from its own ashes.

The 12th graders then presented a quickly rehearsed entertaining set of commercials which left the audience in splits. An invitation to showcase talent was met with good response from volunteers in the audience. Devoid of hectic practice sessions or racing tension to attain perfection, ‘Pradarshan’, with its endearing imperfections and a ‘going with the flow’ spirit was a memorable day filled with camaraderie, laughter and togetherness.
